1. The first approach is a traditional model in which golf is a very conditional/results-oriented game. If I’m playing well, I am happy; if I’m playing poorly, I am not. Unfortunately, with yo-yo emotions comes a yo-yo game and a yo-yo life, simply because we attach joy and happiness – and at times our very self-esteem – to conditions well outside our control.
2. The second approach offers an “emotional energy model” in which improved golf becomes the natural byproduct of a better-feeling mood. Our goal is to feel better first – something within our control – and to bring this higher vibrating energy into our practice and play. Improved performance unfolds because of inspired (rather than required) action and as an “effort-less” consequence of our improved attitude.

"Technically, it is thought that triggers emotion that stimulates energy inside of us that allows the body – via the cells, muscles, and joints – to move freely or in a tense or resistant way. It is always mind over matter, which is precisely why the first cause of any golf swing is less about grip, posture, and stance than attitude, attitude, and attitude." - Spirit of Golf
