There cannot be a happy ending to an unhappy journey. In other words, the destination can never be more satisfying than we have made the journey (process) feel step-by-step along the way. We are fooling ourselves by thinking that any victory is going to appease for very long an unhappy mind. What we energize internally through the stories we tell ourselves is what we are going to eventually experience and see, which is another way of saying that we bring ourselves with us wherever we go.

Our attention to it not happening quickly enough is what keeps pushing it away.  In other words, the emotional vibration of impatience is what keeps us bouncing back and forth between mind states of belief and disbelief – sort of like a two steps forward, two steps backwards kind of approach. We can have the greatest talent on the planet, but before long an impatient mind will find a way to create a tension-filled urgency that locks up the body with resistance – at which time we grind even harder, become more impatient when we don’t see immediate improvement, get more frustrated, work even harder, and on and on.  While often easier said than done, the solution is to detach, chill, and go with “the flow,” at which time we vibrate internally with an energy that brings (allows) everything to our performance that was patiently waiting to express itself once we learned to get out of our own way.

There is not enough action we can take to compensate for an unhappy mind. Try though we may to divert ourselves from core feelings of unhappiness with action, conditions, and stuff, we return before very long to a mind state that continues to push what we want away. It is why the perfectionist with the perfect swing, body, and equipment keeps finding a way to sabotage performance time and again. In effect, we take ourselves with us wherever we go.

2014 Ladies Invitational
"Christmas in July"
July 8th, 2014

It didn't snow, but mother nature was a factor in our annual 2014 Ladies Invitational "Christmas in July". Despite the rain, fun was had by all.  Highlights of the day included some VERY ugly sweaters during breakfast, Glenn hitting some Mistletoe inspired drives on #8, and a very fun white elephant gift exchange following golf.  Thank you very much to all the Ladies who supported this event and special thank you to our Chairwomen Ellen Sands and Gloria Rynd!

Any time we are standing in a place that does not feel good, there is a tendency to want to figure out how and why we got to the uncomfortable place.  There is also a tendency to blame outside conditions, including others, for the reason we feel like we do.  We often think that once we get to the bottom of the problem we will feel better and be free to move to the solution.  Unfortunately, it doesn’t work that way.  From the standpoint of Law of Attraction, we cannot get to the bottom of any unwanted subject before more of the unwanted – or something very similar to it – comes our way. Before improvement can take physical form, we have to teach ourselves to focus less on problem and more on what we want and desire.  The proof in our games shows up only in response to what we first believe and are telling ourselves, which is why believing is seeing and not the other way around.

Most would say that golf is here to teach us something, and we would say that we are the ones here to teach (create) how our games will act toward us. Not unlike a parenting, partner, or coaching relationship, we can manage our shots with kindness and compassion, or we can be boorish, impatient, and harsh. Either way, what we see reflects back to us the emotional energy we put into our games. We get back no more than we choose to offer, which is why the quality of our games will never consistently outpace whether we are being pleasant or unkind.
