Congratulations to our very own
Glenn Cunningham
on his 3rd Place finish at the
Northern Ohio PGA
Assistant Professional Championship!

Shawnee Country Club, Lima:  Glenn went down on Monday to get a first look at the mysterious Shawnee CC and played a very rewarding practice round.  Mother Nature ended up giving the event a break as storm rolled through early Tuesday morning giving way to clear skies for the 36 holes of golf to be played that day.

Round one was very much a test of patience for Glenn as he found himself 2 over through 14 holes.  Back to back birdies on his 15th and 16th hole of the round (holes 6 & 7) and he was right back to even for the tournament.  He bogeyed 8, but finished strong with another birdie on 9 finishing Even Par after round one which featured 6 birdies and 6 bogeys.

After an inspirational text from Joe, Glenn was ready to go low in round two.  He opened round two with a birdie on #1, but gave it back on #4.  Another birdie and bogey on the front 9, left Glenn still at even par for the event through 27 holes.

Glenn made the turn and turned the jets on!  He birdied the 10th hole to get under par and didn't stop there.  After a par on the 11th he rattled off two birdies in a row on 12 and 13 to get to 3 under for the tournament.  Playing alongside the eventual champion, Mike Stone, Glenn knew he was right in the mix.  Another birdie at the par 5 16th got Glenn to within 1 of the lead.

Although he was not able to birdie either of the last two holes to get into a playoff, a bogey free back nine 32 gave Glenn a solo 3rd place finish and a birth in the PGA of America's National Assistant's Championship in Port St. Lucie Florida!
