On behalf of the Northern Ohio Golf Association, I would like to thank you once again for utilizing GHIN® at your Club in 2013.

The purpose of this message is to remind you that October 31st is the final day for our Active season in 2013 here in Northeast Ohio. This means rounds played at your Club (and any other course in Northern Ohio) starting November 1st CAN NOT be posted.  The reason scores are no longer accepted is many courses begin to utilize local rules such as "winter rules", the "leaf rule", or the "two-putt rule" on aerified greens.  The other main reason is that golf courses are not being maintened as they would be during the regular season and that may affect scores.

If you move south for the winter or play golf in warmer climates, you must post those scores to your local handicap.  Those scores will be calculated because those sections of the country would still be considered in an Active Season.

You will continue to receive handicap index revisions via email throughout the winter months, whether or not you play golf in warmer climates.

If you have any, please do not hesitate to ask a member of your professional staff.
