FTC Shootout
10/6/20
On a cool and blustery October morning six ladies of the forward tee club gathered at 9 am. Two arrived shortly thereafter...
On the first hole, a putt off was needed to determine who would proceed. This putt off resulted in Lichelle Chirakos being eliminated from the shootout...
On second hole, 7 ladies teed off and made their way towards the green. As the pressure began to rise so did the ladies of the FTC. A putt off was again needed to determine who would advance. This putt off consisted of Michele Ryan, Mary Ann Miano, and Linda Thorson. After giving it their best efforts. Linda Thorson was eliminated from the shootout.
On the third hole of the shootout, the pressure began to wear on the ladies of the FTC. Two ladies were eliminated after a few short, yet difficult putts, burned the edge of the cup. This resulted in Amy Dawley and Michele Ryan being eliminated from the FTC Shootout.
The fourth hole of the shootout was played on the sixth hole, a stiff breeze was blowing into the faces of the ladies of the FTC. All players hit solid tee shots with Mary Ann Miano and Carolyn Henretta being the closest to the green. Upon completion of the hole, one player was eliminated from the shootout. That player was Paula Otis. Before, we could move to the final hole, a putt off between Carolyn Henretta and Pam Connery was needed to determine who would face off against Mary Ann Miano, in the final hole of the shootout. After two great putts, Carolyn Henretta advanced to the final hole of the shootout with a fabulous putt that almost fall dead center of the cup.
The final hole was between Mary Ann Miano and Carolyn Henretta. Both players hit marvelous tee shots that ended up with Miano in the left fairway and Henretta in the first cut of the right rough. Henretta, proceeded to rip it down the fairway leaving an easy pitch onto the green. Miano knocked it onto the putting surface for a green in regulation. Henretta was next to play. Her third shot was well executed and twenty feet remained for her par attempt. Mary Ann Miano was next to play, and her putt came up a bit short and left some meat on the bone for her par attempt. Henretta then followed with a good putt that ended three feet from the hole. She was now lying four. Mary Ann was left with eight feet for par that just missed the cup. Mary Ann tapped in for a five. Carolyn was left with a difficult three footer the found the bottom of the cup. Carolyn Henretta is our winner of the FTC Shootout.
